Revealed in Christ - Revelation in a Certain Light (Focus 4 of 4)

What's something mundane or simple that, if you had to give it up, would feel like more of a sacrifice than it probably actually is?

Focus 4 | Revealed in Christ

God wants you to get to know him like he knows you, and so he has revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ.
Now that you've answered the icebreaker question, here's another to consider - this one about how we measure people:

Imagine teaching the child, Jesus, about death.
Hear the meaning behind the song, "Be With Us," and then listen to the actual song.
Learn more about, "Be With Us," as Drew explains why he wrote it:
God's revelation in Jesus did not end with death - it continued as God raised Jesus from death, showing that the selfish power of death is overcome by the loving sacrificial posture of God. Revealing this love through Jesus and in so doing moving death out of the way was God's method of showing humanity what really matters most to God.

Seek to find it in the accounts of three resurrection appearances.
In Focus 3 of this series, you were shown that Scripture is God's way of revealing his plan to intercede to save us through Jesus. That's the story of the Bible, and it is an important one. At the same time, that story is not the be-all-and-end-all of what God has done, is doing, or will do. That story, and the revelation of Jesus in it, is a way of showing what God wants most.

Explore God's motivation using this exploration of how a certain word applies to Jesus' work.
Discover what diffused responsibility is and then apply it to the revelation of God as a sacrificially loving.

Carrying out any sacrificial action requires taking on vulnerability. There's no real difference between this and taking risk. This is what Jesus did for us.
Take five minutes (using the timer below) to come up with 30 examples of diffused responsibility. Go!
